Floyd County, Georgia
Floyd County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of 2000, the population was 90,565. Census estimates for 2005 show a population of 94,198. The county seat is Rome, Georgia.
History
The county was established on December 3, 1832, by an act of the Georgia General Assembly and was created from land that was part of Cherokee County at the time. The County is named after General John Floyd.
