Jones County, Georgia Jones County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of 2000, the population was 23,639. The 2005 Census Estimate shows a population of 26,836. The county seat is Gray.

It was created on December 10, 1807. The county is named after U.S. Representative James Jones.
