Peach County, Georgia
Peach County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the population was 23,668. The 2005 Census Estimate shows a population of 24,794. Its county seat is Fort Valley, Georgia.
History
Founded in 1924, it was the state's last to be created, taken from Houston ("house-ton") and Macon counties on July 8 of that year. It is the namesake of the peach, Georgia's most famous crop.
