Tift County, Georgia
Tift County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of 2000, the population was 38,407. The 2005 Census Estimate shows a population of 40,793. The county seat is Tifton, Georgia.
History
The County was created on August 17, 1905, and is named for Nelson Tift, founder of the Georgia city of Albany and United States Representative.
