Upson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. It was created on December 15, 1824. As of 2000, the population was 27,597. The 2005 Census Estimate shows a population of 27,679. The county seat is Thomaston, Georgia.
History
The county was created on December 15, 1824, by an act of the Georgia General Assembly and was named after Stephen Upson, a Georgia judge.
